Windows 7 Caveat no more!

April 8, 2009

After installing Windows 7 Beta inside VMware Workstation 6.5, I became extremely comfortable with it, in fact, I was even bold enough to install it on my pc at home a couple of months ago.

After a couple of days of performing my day to day activities, I finally found a small caveat, I could no longer use Magic ISO to mount ISO files.  Now, I was rather impressed to find that Windows 7  provides the capability to burn ISO files using the Windows Disc Image Burner, however, I was a little annoyed that Microsoft still had no solution to mount the ISO files.  See the following site for a quick ” How To…”. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/548-burn-disc-image-iso-img-file.html

After doing some searching online, I could never come across a solution to mount ISO’s so I eventually restored Windows Vista back onto my pc.

Well today I decided to check in and see if Magic ISO had ever released an update and low and behold there is now a download that supports Windows 7 as seen below.

The virtual CD/DVD-ROM application is free and can be downloaded at:
